Understanding Aqvita

Aqvita is developing a new way to bring minerals into your daily life: liquid mineral formulas you add directly to the water you drink. Our approach is inspired by the chemistry of natural waters, in which certain minerals such as magnesium and calcium are present in dissolved form, notably associated with bicarbonates. Nature gave us the model. We made it instant.
Because it all started with water. In nature, water travels through soil and rock over long periods and gradually acquires its mineral composition. Aqvita draws on this chemistry to offer minerals already in liquid form, to add directly to the water you choose to drink. No tablet to swallow. No powder to prepare. Your water becomes the carrier of your mineral routine.
No. Aqvita is a liquid food supplement to add to water. Our formulations are inspired by the chemistry found in certain natural waters, but Aqvita is not a natural mineral water.
The difference starts with the format. Instead of starting from a tablet, a capsule or a powder, Aqvita starts from water. Our minerals come in a concentrated liquid solution, added directly to your glass, bottle or water bottle. The minerals are already dissolved.
The Aqvita invention

Magnesium bicarbonate is a form in which magnesium can be present in solution in certain natural waters. This is the chemistry that inspired Aqvita. The challenge is that at high concentration, this solution is difficult to keep stable. That is precisely the chemistry problem we set out to solve.
Aqvita developed a technology to create a supersaturated solution of magnesium bicarbonate, concentrated and stabilised thanks to CO₂. This technology keeps the bicarbonate in solution in a concentrated form, ready to be simply added to water at the moment of use. What nature does slowly, Aqvita makes instant.
CO₂ is at the heart of our technology. It maintains the conditions needed to stabilise our concentrated bicarbonate solution. Pressure and CO₂ are therefore not just about packaging: they are part of the very principle of our invention.
Yes. Aqvita has developed proprietary technology for preparing and stabilising concentrated mineral solutions based on bicarbonates and CO₂ (patent LU500826B1).
Why magnesium?

Magnesium is the first major consumer application of our technology. It is an essential mineral that contributes to many normal functions of the body: energy, muscle function, nervous system, psychological functions and electrolyte balance. It also contributes to the reduction of tiredness. Today, we are starting with magnesium. But Aqvita was designed from the start as a technology for minerals in water.

Yes. Magnesium dissolved in water is bioavailable and can contribute effectively to magnesium intake. Human studies using stable isotopes have shown that magnesium present in magnesium-rich waters is well absorbed by the body.
Research also shows that how you consume it matters. In a clinical study, the same amount of magnesium provided by a mineral water was significantly better absorbed when spread over several small servings during the day rather than consumed in a few large ones. These results are consistent with an important characteristic of magnesium: its fractional absorption tends to decrease as the amount ingested at once increases. The scientific literature thus considers water a relevant source of dietary magnesium.

Active is based on our magnesium bicarbonate in solution technology. The recommended daily dose provides 84 mg of magnesium, i.e. 22% of the reference intake. Magnesium contributes to normal energy-yielding metabolism, to normal muscle function and to a reduction of tiredness. Recovery combines magnesium bicarbonate and magnesium bisglycinate. The recommended daily dose provides 58 mg of magnesium, i.e. 15% of the reference intake.
